Amazon REMOVES Clarence Thomas film from streaming service

The cancel culture of the left has notched a series of wins over the past year in a continued effort to eradicate dissenting voices from the marketplace of ideas. Sadly, there seems to be no end in sight, as censorship of conservative ideas is gaining steam on a number of large platforms.
As the Daily Wire reports, technology and e-commerce giant Amazon is among the outlets engaging in this alarming practice, with the company this week deciding to remove a documentary on conservative U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from its popular Prime streaming service.
That's right – they removed Clarence Thomas during Black History Month.
The highly-regarded PBS feature entitled Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words was apparently eliminated from Amazon's offerings during Black History Month, a time when the service was touting films on failed Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and on Anita Hill, who famously sought to scuttle Thomas’ rise to the high court back in 1991.
Amazon's decision to remove a documentary covering the life of the only Black Supreme Court justice presently on the bench is just the latest in a series of moves by the commercial behemoth designed to silence voices that diverge from the progressive orthdoxy.
Prior to deplatforming the Thomas documentary, Amazon halted availability of When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Movement, a book written by conservative author Ryan Anderson in which liberal gender theory is critiqued.
Last year, the retailer also prohibited conservative publisher Regnery from purchasing sponsored ads for author Abigail Shrier's book Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, a volume that big box behemoth Target later banned from its stores, as the Wall Street Journal reported.
This disturbing trend has caught the attention of many in recent days, including Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh, who warns that if things continue in this direction, it is “effectively the end of conservative books,” because publishing houses will no longer be willing to take a risk on volumes unable to be sold to Amazon's massive customer base.
As Shrier pointed out in a series of tweets in response to Amazon's controversial move, “When a company controls over 83% of the market for books, it begins the process of deleting ideas from a society.” In anticipation of the liberal counterargument that conservatives have long asserted that private enterprises have the right to determine which types of commerce in which they will engage, Shrier explained that the problem is a matter of scale.
As actor and comedian Rob Schneider reminded his followers via an especially apt re-tweet, it is high time for all Americans to stop and gain some historical perspective when it comes to the left's terrifying zeal to put an end to dissenting opinions.
